The Startup Cartography Project map shows new American businesses since 1988. Info We Trust designed and implemented the interactive map at the heart of the project. It shows both quantity and quality of entrepreneurship across America at many different levels: from state to individual address.
The project is motivated by a simple observation: while entrepreneurship is widely seen as a foundation for economic growth and social progress, only a very small fraction of all startups realize the extraordinary level of growth (in terms of jobs, revenue or valuation) that can propel economy-wide dynamism.
The project was born at MIT and is now hosted at Columbia University with the support of the Kauffman Foundation. It was announced in AAAS Science Magazine and demonstrated at The White House.
